Definitions:

The IMBOK team comprises those individuals who administer and maintain the structure of this web site.

The IMBOK community comprises the IMBOK team and those other individuals who have visited this web site and have chosen to register on it as users.

Registration means identifying oneself on the web site by using the registration facility provided therein, and providing limited personal information appropriate to community building.

Personal information:

Users are asked to provide limited personal information upon registration and at other times.  This is limited to information that will be useful in operating the web site for the mutual benefit of the IMBOK community, through furtherance of the objectives of the web site.  The IMBOK team agrees not to disclose personally identifiable information to other parties except when we have that person's permission, or under other special circumstances such as when the law requires it.

Objective and operation of the IMBOK web site:

The web site is provided for the benefit of the IMBOK community by building shared knowledge and understanding of Information Management.  It achieves this by delivering information about Information Management at two levels. 
  1. It provides unlimited access to general information about Information Management so as to attract new members to the community. 
  2. It provides, to the community only, access to more specific resources that are intended to deliver the intended shared benefit. 
These specific resources include (but are not limited to):
  • detailed, useful and reliable information about Information Management
  • a forum within which to discuss the issues pertaining to Information Management
  • a wiki (repository) for shared knowledge about Information Management

Communication:

Using the personal information provided at registration, periodic e-mails will be sent to the community about the development of the site and its content but for no other purpose. 

Liability:

The IMBOK team disclaims all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense, however caused, that arises from any use of or reliance upon the information provided here  and we do not warrant the truth, accuracy or completeness of the information provided here by ourselves or our contributors.

Intellectual property rights:

The content of the IMBOK forum sections remains the intellectual property of the contributors, unless otherwise indicated.

The entire content of the IMBOK wiki is considered to be shared intellectual property and it is offered under the terms of a "Creative Commons" licence as indicated within the wiki.

Holders of copyright material unknowingly provided here without attribution are asked to
contact us so that we can either attribute or remove it.

Good behaviour:

Users agree not to post defamatory, scandalous, violent or private information about a person, nor to intentionally insult or inflict emotional distress, nor to violate trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights.
