Academics can use the IMBOK to publish their working papers, swop notes with other teachers and researchers around the world, and keep up to date with this important perspective on managing information within organisations. The IMBOK sets out to provide useful material on best practice for IT practitioners and business managers, but it relies on contributions from those academics who are researching the issues that connect IT investment with strategy formulation and implementation - and the business rewards that are sought. We see that academics have a very useful role to play in contributing to the IMBOK, and nothing would please us more than to see the handbook evolve into atruly living document (or Wiki). We are planning to implement a wiki here, and we hope that you will come and join in the effort to develop practical and effective advice for those in all kinds of organisations who want to get the best out of IT, and deliver real benefits to their organisational stakeholders. |
