 An early IMBOK workshop
The IMBOK has origins that reach back many years, but the turning point in South Africa was a series of workshops run in Cape Town, where the potential for academic research to contribute to business was extensively explored. In the context of a partnership research project, the needs of participants were taken as the baseline for a new arrangement of ideas: the Information Management Body of Knowledge. Because of its pragmatic origins, we believe the IMBOK is useful for anybody and everybody who wants the best possible return from their IT investment. Read more about it in these introductory pages.
